Description

Design. A feature piece that is sure to draw the eye as well as deliver plenty of handy storage, the Rockingham TV Unit has a unique rustic appeal in its blockwork door fronts that is synonymous with this gorgeous range. Including 2 practical cupboards which are each filled with a central shelf for making the most of the space, the Rockingham also has 2 open shelves that are perfect for neat storage entertainment systems.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Rockingham TV unit for its clean, minimalist design and natural timber finish, making it a versatile piece that works well in both contemporary and Scandinavian-inspired interiors. Its sturdy build and ample surface space make it practical for housing media devices, while the open shelving allows for easy access to remotes or decorative items. To style it effectively, consider adding a few curated accessories like a small plant, modern table lamp, or decorative books on the open shelves to create an inviting focal point. It’s ideal for living rooms that embrace natural textures and a light colour palette, but can also serve as a warm contrast in more eclectic spaces. Keep clutter minimal to showcase its beauty and let it anchor your media area effortlessly.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
