Description

Design. Beautifully showcasing a central natural block wood design feature, the stunning Rockingham Coffee Table has a charming two tone look thanks to contrasting direction of grain and complementary wood tones. Angular metal legs offer a solid base for this table, while adding an urban edge to its rustic-contemporary appeal – the ideal choice for adding a touch of interest to neutral interiors. Perfect for a range of spaces thanks to its practical sizing and a characterful design, the Rockingham is strikingly finished with a brown oil to offset the prominent knots and grain of its brushed ash top.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Rockingham coffee table for its clean, minimalist aesthetic that suits a variety of interiors, from modern industrial to Scandinavian-inspired spaces. Its combination of a warm, natural wooden top with a sleek black metal frame makes it versatile and timeless. It works well in open-plan living rooms, providing functional surface area without overwhelming the space. Practical styling tips include layering with cosy accessories-like a stack of books, a small plant, or a decorative tray-to add personality, while keeping it uncluttered to maintain a contemporary feel. This table's straightforward design means it can effortlessly adapt to various decor styles as your interior evolves.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
