Description

Celebrating the artful designs of natural wood, the Rockingham 2 Door 3 Drawer Sideboard has a unique blockwork front that not only showcases the true beauty of wood, splits and all, but also adds a rustic texture to the piece – perfect for offering a touch of nature to the home. Packed with storage solutions as well as style, the Rockingham features 2 large cupboards fitted with a central shelf for easy storage of plates and knickknacks, leaving its 3 sliding drawers free for occasional cutlery and more.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Rockingham sideboard for its clean, modern lines combined with the natural warmth of the wood, making it a versatile piece for a variety of interiors. It works particularly well in contemporary, Scandinavian, or rustic-inspired spaces where its simple silhouette can stand out without overwhelming the room. Practical styling tips include using it in a living room for extra storage and surface space by layering with a few curated accessories or statement lighting. Its neutral finish makes it easy to complement with a range of colour palettes and decorative styles, from bold art prints on top to minimalist tableware if used in a dining area. The black handles and angled legs add a touch of subtle contrast, enhancing its modern appeal.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
