Description

Boasting a minimalist look, these environmentally friendly coffee tables have been machined from a single piece of cedar wood and carved smoothly into small circular forms of various heights. With no additional treatment added, the Legno tables sole decoration comes from the natural patterns and grain formed in the trunk from which it was crafted. These would look idyllic sat fireside with its scented cedar creating a wonderfully atmospheric, cosy and traditional setting.

Our Stylist Says

The Riva 1920 Legno Vivo coffee table in cedar wood offers a natural, minimalistic aesthetic that works well in both modern and rustic interiors. Its sculptural, slightly irregular form adds subtle texture and warmth, making it a versatile piece that can serve as a statement or blend seamlessly into a variety of schemes. I love pairing it with other raw or organic materials like linen, leather, or stone to highlight its natural beauty. For styling tips, consider placing a tray or a small collection of decorative objects on top to add visual interest, while keeping the surrounding space uncluttered to maintain its understated charm. This piece is particularly effective in cosy living rooms or open-plan lounges where its tactile qualities can be appreciated up close.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
