A pair of abstract prints by Ritika Gandhi, on stretched canvas, unglazed and framed in a contemporary white float frame, ready to hang on your wall. Ritika Gandhi's work is based on the psychophysical perception of colour, influenced by her deep roots in Indian culture with its bright and vibrant colours. She uses colours that stimulate the retina and evoke an emotional response from the viewer. Red represents fire, warmth and comfort, and is often paired with its opposite: blues representing tranquillity and peace. Yellow engenders an optimistic outlook towards life. All these colours are pulled together by the authority and power of black. "These colours give an insight towards my own life and my own feelings," explains Gandhi. "‘Go with the flow’ is how my paintings usually start, then evolve into compositions in which colour is the primary subject. Working on silk, as the medium of choice, helps me to do just that. To me, art is an amalgamation of my personal feelings, the subject or colours that inspire me and my materials and techniques. Serenity and simplicity are what I strive for." Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings?
I love the Ritika Gandhi feature as it adds a sophisticated touch with its gold and blue palette, making it a versatile statement piece. This set works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist interiors, where the abstract design can bring a touch of artistic flair without overwhelming the space. For practical styling, consider hanging these artworks above a neutral sofa or sideboard to create focal points, and pair them with metallic accents or soft textiles in similar colour tones to tie the room together. Their sizeable dimensions make them ideal for large gallery walls or to anchor a blank wall in open-plan living areas, offering both colour and texture to elevate the overall aesthetic.
