Description

The Richmond walnut veneer sideboard is a high-end, striking piece with brass metal detailing for an opulent finish. This design-led piece is crafted from a wood veneer with the intricate grain of the wood catching the light to enhance both its warmth and colour. It sits atop four slimline brass legs which are complemented by matching brass handles. Featuring 5 cupboards and 1 roomy drawer, inside each door is a shelved, roomy interior perfect for storing everything from plates to napkins, glasses and more. And there’s still plenty of room to place vases or a fresh bunch of flowers on top. This luxe sideboard will look great placed in a living room, dining room or hallway. Part of the Richmond range, the design is also available as a dressing table.

Our Stylist Says

I love this piece for its timeless elegance and warm walnut veneer finish, which adds richness to a variety of interiors. It works particularly well in mid-century modern or Scandinavian-inspired spaces, where clean lines and natural materials are key. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with minimal accessories-such as a sleek brass lamp or a few curated decorative objects-to highlight its beautiful grain without cluttering the surface. It also provides excellent storage for tableware or media equipment, making it both practical and stylish. Keep the surrounding decor simple to allow the wood’s natural character to shine through and create a cohesive, inviting look.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
