A European lakeside cafe by artist Richard Macneil, mounted with a warm, metallic-effect frame. Richard Macneil is a self-taught artist who has worked in the fields of sculpture, ceramics and graphics both in the UK and internationally. He founded the Macneil Studio in 2009 with his wife and sons. He spent a long time working in the USA and one of his greatest achievements was seeing his artwork in the Oval Office in The White House. Returning to Worcestershire, England, where he was born and bred, Richard has worked on developing his unique style with a vision to create 'art that appeals to and is accessible to all'. Have you thought about hooks and fittings?
I love this piece because it captures a lively, breezy seaside scene that works really well in both casual and contemporary interiors. The elongated format makes it ideal for wide, open wall spaces like a living room or a dining area, particularly above a sideboard or sofa. Its versatile colours allow it to complement a variety of colour palettes-think soft neutrals or darker, moodier tones. For styling tips, consider framing it with minimalist furniture to keep the focus on the print, or pair it with natural textures such as wood or linen to enhance its relaxed vibe. It’s a great way to bring a sense of calm and energy into a room with minimal fuss.
