Description

The incredibly detailed Cambridge Spires by Richard Macneil features beautiful blossomed trees, complete with intricate buildings and cobbled pavements. This lovely picture comes presented mounted and framed in a soft champagne moulding, ready for you to simply hang on your wall. Richard Macneil is a self taught artist who has always worked in the creative industry. He’s worked in the fields of sculpture, ceramics and graphics, both in the UK and internationally. One of his greatest achievements was seeing his artwork residing in The White House. Returning to Worcestershire, England, where he was born and bred, Richard has worked on developing his unique style that he paints in today. Now teamed together with his family to form ‘The Macneil Studio,’ his prints can be seen on greeting cards, gift wrap, stationery, home décor and canvas.

Our Stylist Says

The Richard Macneil - Cambridge Spires print is a versatile artwork that works well in both contemporary and traditional interiors. I love it because of its soft colour palette and charming landscape scene, which adds a touch of calm and sophistication to any space. It’s particularly effective as a statement piece in larger living rooms or hallways, where its size can be fully appreciated. For styling tips, consider pairing it with neutral or pastel tones to enhance the delicate colours, and hang it at eye level for optimal impact. A simple, understated frame like the one shown allows the artwork to stand out without overpowering your decor, making it a great choice to bring a subtle sense of place and personality to your home.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
