Our Stylist Says

I love this colour-changing LED pendant for its sleek, modern look and versatility. Its chrome finish gives it a polished, contemporary vibe that works beautifully in minimalist or industrial interiors, but it can also add a touch of sophistication to more eclectic spaces. The colour-changing feature makes it highly adaptable-perfect for setting different moods or complementing varied colour schemes without needing to swap fixtures. Practical styling tips include pairing it with simple, understated furniture to let the light feature shine or using it above dining tables or statement countertops to create a focal point. It’s also a great choice for tech-savvy homes where lighting control and customisation are valued, making it both a functional and stylish addition.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
