Our Stylist Says

I love this green-tinted recycled glass vase for its subtle colour that adds a touch of warmth to a space without overpowering it. It works particularly well in minimalist or Scandinavian-inspired interiors, where its understated design can shine. Practical styling tips include pairing it with simple foliage or dried botanicals for a natural look, or using it as a standalone statement piece on a mantel or coffee table. Its rounded shape makes it versatile; it can be grouped with other similar vases for visual interest or used alone for a clean, modern touch. The eco-friendly aspect also makes it a thoughtful addition for those looking to incorporate sustainable pieces into their home.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
