Description

Why choose the Eames Plastic Armchair RE DAL? Authentic Vitra design, born of a pioneering vision A 100% recyclable, post-consumer recycled Shell An ergonomic design molded in one piece, with enveloping comfort Elegant, iconic La Fonda Legs A modern design icon, faithful to the 1950 originalTreat yourself to an iconic ORIGINAL from Vitra. An original will always retain its value. It will be with you all your life and will outlive you, being passed on to the next generation. The Swiss company Vitra is the only company authorized to manufacture Charles & Ray Eames products for Europe: if you are in possession of an Eames product made by Vitra, you can be sure that it is an original. A revolutionary Shell, now 100% recycledDesigned in 1950, the Eames Plastic Armchair was the first mass-produced plastic chair. Since January 2024, Vitra has been revisiting this classic under the name Eames Plastic Flesh RE, with a shell made from post-consumer recycled polypropylene, sourced from the German "Gelber Sack" program. Each Shell is 100% recyclable and features subtle pigment variations due to the materials used - a visible trace of its ecological commitment. An organic shape born of innovationAfter several unsuccessful attempts with Plywood or Sheet metal, in the 1940s the Eames discovered Fibreglass, then unheard of in furniture. It enabled them to create a one-piece Shell adapted to the human anatomy. This visionary move gave rise to a new type of furniture: multifunctional seats whose shells could be combined with a variety of Legs to suit all uses. Controlled comfort, anchored in everyday lifeMolded into a fluid shape, the Shell offers exceptional comfort thanks to its ergonomic curvature and matte finish. This RE DAL model is distinguished by its die-cast aluminium La Fonda Legs: designed in 1961 for the La Fonda del Sol restaurant in New York, this compact four-branch base combines a tapered central column with a sleek circular base, ideal for maximum stability without sacrificing elegance. A sculptural presence, between ethics and aestheticsAvailable in a range of subtly pigmented matte colors, the RE DAL chair is equally at home in a contemporary dining room, a sleek desk or a sophisticated reading area. Its continuous lines, technical yet decorative legs and recycled composition make it an exceptional piece for lovers of sustainable, enlightened design. Choosing the Eames Plastic Armchair RE DAL means bringing home a fragment of furniture history, revisited to meet today's challenges. A manifesto of intelligent design, both iconic and responsible. Care:Clean the Shell with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive or alcohol-based cleaners. ATTENTION:Armchair not stackable. Indoor use only. Our Stylist Says

I love this Eames plastic armchair for its timeless design and versatile appeal. Its clean white finish and ergonomic form make it a great statement piece that can easily slot into both modern and mid-century inspired interiors. It works particularly well in open-plan living spaces, home offices, or stylish lounge areas. For a polished look, pair it with neutral textiles and metallic accents, or inject colour with cushions or throws to add personality. Practical tips include using it around a dining table or as a standalone accent chair in a corner; its durable plastic material makes it easy to clean and maintain, making it as functional as it is stylish.
