Created by Italian designer Antonio Citterio, RE-CHAIR's name refers to the chair's recycled material. Pursuing its technological research, Kartell continues to innovate to select new materials that perform increasingly well and are ever more environmentally friendly. RE-CHAIR is made from recycled thermoplastic technopolymer. With this material, Kartell is making new inroads into environmental sustainability by using recycled materials, while ridding the environment of waste which is turned back into raw materials, thus triggering a virtuous cycle of the circular economy. Re-Chair features geometric, square, tapered lines. The cut-out in the backrest and seat is an imprint, a gesture, a graphic sign filling the space with its characteristic signature. Re-chair's bold silhouette catches the eye. Strong, light and stackable, Re-Chair can be used both indoors and out. From home to office, including the terrace, it's ideal in residential or public environments.
I love this stackable recycled chair for its sleek, contemporary silhouette and eco-conscious materials. It’s a versatile piece that works well in both modern and minimalist interiors, adding a fresh, sustainable touch to dining or office spaces. When styling, consider pairing it with a neutral or monochrome colour scheme to emphasise its clean lines, or mix it with other textures and colours for a more eclectic look. Its stackability makes it ideal for flexible spaces that require easy storage and adaptability. To keep the space feeling light and airy, try pairing with a glass or light wood table - it’s practical yet stylish, making it perfect for everyday dining as well as more casual, social settings.
