Created by Italian designer Antonio Citterio, RE-CHAIR's name refers to the chair's recycled material. Pursuing its technological research, Kartell continues to innovate to select new materials that perform increasingly well and are ever more environmentally friendly. RE-CHAIR is made from recycled thermoplastic technopolymer. With this material, Kartell is making new inroads into environmental sustainability by using recycled materials, while ridding the environment of waste which is turned back into raw materials, thus triggering a virtuous cycle of the circular economy. Re-Chair features geometric, square, tapered lines. The cut-out in the backrest and seat is an imprint, a gesture, a graphic sign filling the space with its characteristic signature. Re-chair's bold silhouette catches the eye. Strong, light and stackable, Re-Chair can be used both indoors and out. From home to office, including the terrace, it's ideal in residential or public environments.
I really like this stacking chair for its clean, modern silhouette and eco-friendly credentials. It works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist interiors, where its sleek form can stand out without overwhelming the space. Its grey recycled material makes it versatile for both casual dining areas and more formal settings, especially where sustainability is a consideration. Practical styling tips include grouping several in different colours for a flexible, playful look or pairing it with a glass or wooden table to highlight its modern design while keeping the overall aesthetic simple and functional. The stacking feature also makes it a smart choice for spaces where storage efficiency is important.
