Description

The understated and timeless Radius 3 door oak sideboard with recessed handles is beautifully crafted from lacquered solid oak and oak veneer. The sideboard's rounded corners are joined with traditional bridle joints, a carpenter's joint that allows for a corner connection that is strong in all directions and needs no additional bracing. Designed by Simon Pengelly exclusively for Habitat, the sideboard is part of the Radius dining furniture range, which includes dining and bedroom furniture.

Our Stylist Says

I love this sideboard’s clean lines and natural oak finish, making it a versatile piece that works well in both modern and traditional interiors. Its recessed handles give it a streamlined look, perfect for contemporary spaces, while the warm oak tone easily complements neutral palettes or adds warmth to more colourful schemes. Styling tips include using it to display minimal decorative items such as vases or books to keep the look uncluttered. It’s also practical for storage in dining rooms or living areas, providing a neat solution for tableware, linens, or media accessories. Pairing it with pairing with soft textiles or metallic accents can elevate its understated elegance and create a well-balanced, functional space.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
