I’m a fan of the Tamlin desk in linseed because its pale oak surface and slim black legs strike a clean balance between industrial and Scandi styles. The built-in drawer and open shelving make it ideal for keeping work zones tidy, especially if you need quick access to notebooks or a router - just thread cables through the back panels.
Pair it with a simple upholstered chair and a frosted-glass task lamp for a contemporary home office, or slot it against a white-washed wall alongside a cork noticeboard for a minimalist study corner. In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
