I’m a fan of the Calvin stool in green velvet because it combines a slim, black metal frame with a richly upholstered seat that doesn’t feel too bulky. The deep emerald tone adds depth without clashing, so it works just as well in a minimalist, Scandi-inspired kitchen as it does in an industrial or mid-century style breakfast bar.
For styling, keep surrounding surfaces neutral - think pale timber or matte white worktops - and introduce small colour echoes elsewhere, such as a dark green glass vase or a few brass accessories. If you’re lining up more than one, vary your pendants’ heights or alternate seat cushions to stop things feeling too matchy.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores".
