The palaces and grand houses of the mid-1800s designed by A. W. Pugin were the inspiration behind the striking damask of Pugin Palace Flock wallpaper by Cole & Son. Taken from an original block print, the Cole & Son Design Studio has injected an opulent elegance to the design whilst retaining original symbolic motifs such as the pineapple, seen throughout many of Pugin's works, signifying wealth and hospitality. Delicate flocking, a production process which imitates cut velvet, enhances the rich decadence of the design. Choose from sumptuous tones of Dark Hyacinth; Claret; and Charcoal. Part of the Pearwood collection. Application Method: paste the wall and then apply wallpaper. Pattern match: straight match. Vertical repeat: 35.4cm.
I love the Pugin Palace Flock wallpaper for its rich, traditional pattern, which adds a touch of elegance and sophistication. It works particularly well in classic or period-style interiors, but can also bring a statement element to contemporary spaces when paired with modern furnishings. For practical styling, consider using it as a feature wall in a lounge or bedroom to highlight its intricate design without overwhelming the space. Given its dark charcoal grey palette, pairing it with lighter, neutral tones or metallic accents can help balance the overall look. It’s a durable choice for wall applications, but avoid overly busy accessories to ensure the pattern remains the focal point.
