I like how this black five-shelf unit brings both open and concealed storage to a room without looking bulky. Its clean lines and matt finish suit modern, Scandi-inspired or industrial spaces, and the slim profile means it slips neatly into a study corner or alongside a sofa wall.
For styling, group books by height on the open shelves and mix in small plants or sculptural vases to break up the lines. Use the lower cupboards for stashing paperwork, boards or tech chargers. If you need more ambience, fit a discreet LED strip under one shelf to highlight your favourite pieces and keep the top two shelves lighter to avoid the whole unit feeling top-heavy.
