Price History

Description

An original oil on canvas that draws inspiration from words chosen at random from the book When The Sick Rule The World by Dodie Bellamy. Philip Maltman is an abstract artist shortlisted for the John Moores Painting Prize. Born in Ayrshire, a historic county on the coast of Scotland, he is known for exploring the littoral zone through his work - the area of shoreline where the sea meets the land.

Our Stylist Says

I love this piece because it seamlessly combines an abstract sensibility with a hint of urban energy, making it quite versatile. It works well in contemporary interiors with neutral colour palettes, adding texture and interest without overwhelming the space. Practical styling tips include pairing it with minimalist furniture or placing it above a simple sideboard to create a focal point. It’s also effective in more eclectic schemes, where it can act as a bridging element between different styles. The artwork’s abstract nature makes it adaptable and easy to incorporate into various colour schemes and room types, whether a living room, bedroom, or office.
