Supplied fully assembled for convenience, the Portia comes with three spacious drawers, complete with 8mm heavy duty bases, linen look insides and easy glide metal runners. I’m a fan of this five-drawer chest in its soft brown hue because the simple panelling and antique-style knobs give just enough character without overwhelming a room. It works equally well in Scandi-inspired bedrooms, modern country hallways or transitional living spaces where you need extra storage. For styling, keep décor on the top fairly low - a ceramic lamp, a small stack of coffee-table books and a single stem in a glass vase will look deliberate rather than cluttered. In a bedroom, tuck a woven runner behind it and lean a round mirror above for balance; in a hallway, use low baskets on the floor to corral shoes and scarves, making the chest both pretty and practical.
