The design of both lamps developed in an entirely organic way, starting off as a ball of clay that was then pummelled by hand into its rounded and textured shape. Following the celebration of simplicity and imperfection in the Wabi-Sabi tradition, the hand-sculpted surface of the Nina has a tactile, dimpled texture. The Nina is unique from the Shida in its decorative aesthetic. Resembling dancing figures in an abstract pattern, the hand-painted finish of the Nina lamp is elegant and playful.
I love the understated elegance of the palette in the Nina lamp - the biscuit colour adds warmth and a touch of softness to any space. It works particularly well in neutral, minimalist interiors but can also bring a sculptural element to more eclectic or boho schemes. For styling tips, place it on side tables or bedside desks to create cosy, inviting corners. Pair with textured textiles or other natural materials like wood or linen for a layered look. The understated design makes it versatile-perfect for both contemporary environments and more traditional settings looking for a modern twist.
