This is surely Porta Romana's most iconic piece. It was inspired by a visit to a surrealist exhibition, and we love it, especially in its feathered shade. The idea for The Duck Feet Lamp was first inspired by the furniture designs of surrealist artist Meret Oppenheim. It is expertly cast in brass and then hand finished in our workshop. Bronze shown with 14" Top Hat in Cinnamon Linen with Cream Card lining. Many Porta Romana pieces are fully customisable. Products can be scaled up or down, proportions can be changed, and designs can be painted to your choice. Please contact us for options and best pricing.
I love this lamp for its playful yet sophisticated design, especially the way the bronze legs mimic duck feet - adding a touch of whimsy to a classic form. It works particularly well in eclectic or contemporary interiors, where statement pieces can punctuate a room’s personality. To style it effectively, consider placing it on a side table or desk to add some humour and visual interest without overwhelming the space. Pairing it with other bronze accents or textured fabrics can enhance its organic vibe. Keep the surrounding decor simple to let this unique lamp be the focal point, or complement it with soft textiles for a cosy, inviting feel.
