Description

Made in the UK Combining a vibrant mix of electric blue and green glazes this Poole Pottery Maya vase has a tall, hourglass shape, perfect for displaying bouquets. Each item from Poole Pottery is crafted using traditional techniques. The coloured base glaze is first sprayed on by hand and left to dry. A pattern may then be drawn on as a guide if needed before it's handpainted by layering one colour onto another. This creates the shimmering and dramatic effects that Poole Pottery has been known for since 1873. As each piece is decorated by hand every one will be unique.

Our Stylist Says

I love this vase for its striking colour gradient and modern yet timeless shape-it's a versatile piece that lends itself well to both contemporary and more eclectic interiors. The tall hourglass silhouette works beautifully as a standalone statement piece, perfect for displaying a few simple stems or branches to add height and interest without cluttering the space. It fits well in living rooms, dining areas, or even bedrooms where a pop of colour and a sculptural element are desired. For styling tips, try pairing it with neutral or muted surroundings to make the green really pop, or combine it with other textures like wood or matte ceramics for a layered, curated look. Its presence can elevate an otherwise minimalist decor or complement more maximalist schemes, adding a sophisticated touch without overwhelming the space.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
