Description

Pendant lighting is the perfect way to give a bold statement style to any décor, using a suspended structure to grab attention and create a focal point for the room. The Plume feather ball ceiling pendant light takes this bold effect to the extreme, with a 40cm feather shade surrounding the inner light, suspended from a polished brass plate. Whilst giving an eclectic style to the fitting, this shade also diffuses the light for a softer shine that helps you to create a more relaxing atmosphere in your home. Feature this white feather pendant light above a dining room table or in the centre of your living room to maximise exposure to this unusual fitting.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a big fan of this feather ball pendant for adding instant texture and warmth without overwhelming a room. The soft white plumes sit neatly against the brass ceiling rose, so it works especially well in Scandi-inspired or pared-back contemporary interiors. It makes a striking focal point over a dining table or in a guest bedroom, where its diffused glow creates a cosy atmosphere. For best results, hang it with a low-energy LED bulb to avoid heat build-up and to keep the feathers looking fresh. Pair with simple furnishings in natural materials - think oak sideboards or linen-covered chairs - and stick to a restrained palette of neutrals or muted pastels. A light dusting now and then is all it needs to maintain its airy feel.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
