I’m fond of this media unit for its easy-going mix of warm walnut tones, muted cream drawers and a soft grey sliding door - it brings a modern nod to a mid-century look without feeling fussy. It works particularly well in Scandi-inspired or contemporary living rooms, where clean lines and natural materials are key. For styling, keep the top light by placing a small stack of coffee-table books and a sculptural ceramic vase, then balance with a trailing plant or a pair of matching pots. Tuck woven baskets or low-profile storage boxes onto the open shelf to hide remotes, and hang a simple framed print above to anchor the whole arrangement.

Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
