Two sections of textured fabric are printed and stitched together before being stretched over a wooden frame. This piece is one of three artworks included in the artist's Plan series. Using skills honed over 25 years as an artist, the print is made using a complex, time-consuming process that involves steaming and washing the fabric before each new layer of print is applied. About the artist With a passion for print and colour, London-based abstract artist Michelle House creates unique prints by applying vibrant pigments and dyes to natural materials. Both her printed and painted artworks often use imagery taken from her own photography.
I’m a big fan of 'Plan Yellow', as it brings a bold pop of colour and a modern geometric touch to any space. It works especially well in contemporary or minimal interiors where its vibrant tones can stand out and add visual interest. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral backgrounds or sleek furniture to let the artwork be the star. Practical tips include placing it above a sideboard or console with simple accent pieces around it, and ensuring good lighting to highlight its colour palette. It’s a versatile piece that can elevate a living room, hallway, or office, making the space feel fresh and energetic.
