A cult design object, the Pipistrello lamp is constantly renewing itself, adopting new ultra-trendy finishes such as this superb gold version. Highly economical, this version is equipped with an LED light source (included). Created by Gae Aulenti in 1965, this lamp with its undulating lampshade looks like a bat (pipistrello in Italian). It’s a table or floor lamp with diffuse light. A stainless-steel telescopic rod system lets you adjust its height (66-86 cm). The shade is in opal white methacrylate while the base is metal. Mythical and showcased in the greatest museums around the world, Pipistrello is one of those objects that have become part of our universal heritage. Original model from 1965, made in Italy by the Martinelli Luce factory.
This lamp is a great statement piece with its playful yet elegant shape, making it ideal for contemporary or eclectic interiors. I love how its sculptural form, reminiscent of a mushroom, adds a fun visual element without overwhelming the space. It works particularly well on bedside tables, sideboards, or as a desk lamp in a study, bringing both ambient light and a touch of personality. For styling tips, consider pairing it with minimalist furniture to let its distinctive shape stand out, or combine with textured or neutral textiles to complement its bold silhouette. Its adjustable height makes it versatile, so play with placement to create focal points in living areas or bedrooms.
