The Pinwheel side table stands out as an essential piece of Danish design. It was designed in 1953 by Peter Hvidt (1916-1986) and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen (1907-1993) : these pioneers of Danish design from the middle of the 20th century had an avant-gardist approach to industrialised production. Now their work is exhibited in MoMA, at the National Gallery of Melbourne and the Design Museum of Copenhagen. This side table is characterised by the original shape of its top with geometric and graphical lines. The solid wooden top is supported by three brass legs. The pure design, perfect lines and proportions give this coffee table aesthetics both strong and restrained. You can use the Pinwheel table on its own or bring several of them together in front of a sofa to create wonderful graphic creations. Like a puzzle, the tops slot together and are assembled in different ways. When six tables are brought together, they form a large round table (diam. 130 cm). "Pinwheel embodies the attention to detail of Hvidt & Mølgaard" notes the MD and founder of &Tradition, Martin Kornbek Hansen. "Cleverly designed to work as individual pieces or a larger table, it is a versatile solution for a flexible life. ".
