These blankets are made to keep, use every day and eventually pass down. We don't recommend machine washing your merino wool blanket. The best way to keep it clean, fresh, bacteria and toxin-free and to ensure it lasts, is to air it in the sunshine on the washing line at least 4 times a year, preferably at the start of each season. The sunshine sterilises the wool and the warmth of the sun will encourage any moisture trapped within the wool to be wicked away. Airing this blanket also encourages the fibres of the wool to naturally expand back out, ensuring that the fibre is revitalised and bounces back to life.
