Our Stylist Says
I’m a fan of the Ephesus tall bookcase for its slim profile and mixed-metal look - the gold uprights and marble-effect shelves bring just enough glamour without feeling over the top. It suits contemporary, Art Deco-inspired or even mid-century rooms, and its 174 cm height means it won’t dominate a small living area or home office. For styling, alternate stacks of books with sculptural objects or small potted plants to keep the eye moving. Use a consistent colour palette - for example, monochrome tomes with brass or white ceramic accents - and leave a little breathing space on each shelf rather than cramming it full. The open sides also make it ideal for slotting against a statement‐wall or in front of a textured backdrop.

About The Range
Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
More Than Just Stores
You can find The Range in many places, mostly outside town centres, but also in shopping areas. Some stores have a coffee shop called "Dee Dee's", and others even have a food section from Iceland. And if you like online shopping, The Range has got you covered there too with a big online store.
