Gino Sarfatti (1912 - 1985) was one of the 20th century's greatest lighting designers. Founder of the famous "Arteluce" lighting company, he was one of the first designers to take an interest in the new functions of lighting. Sarfatti abolished the boundaries between the functional and decorative aspects of lighting, creating new types of luminaire.
I love this pendant for its bold yet minimalist appeal, blending mid-century design with contemporary sensibilities. It works beautifully in both modern and loft-style interiors, adding a sculptural focal point without overwhelming the space. To style it effectively, consider hanging it in a dining area with high ceilings or over a large kitchen island to highlight its impressive diameter. Pair it with simple, understated furniture so the chandelier remains the statement piece, and opt for warm, dimmable lighting to emphasise its sleek lines and transparent bulbs. Its versatile yet distinctive design makes it a great choice for those looking to combine classic charm with modern elegance.
