In the early years Paul would use natural pine branches to decorate his shops in winter. Freshly cut and gathered, they would fill the space with their welcoming aroma. Merrymaker evokes memories of joyous times spent together in familiar spaces with favourite hosts and company loved. Reminiscent of the season, warm notes of fir balsam, mahogany, and cardamom envelop and embrace. Hand-poured and blended with premium ingredients, this candle is formulated to ensure exceptional scent diffusion. The wax is housed in a tinted glass vessel complete with a contrasting lid that doubles as a coaster, an expression of Paul’s fondness for colour and its endless combinations. John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
