Our Stylist Says
I’m a fan of this matt-grey low bookcase for its neat proportions and subtle moulding detail, which give it a tailored look without dominating a room. The soft grey finish works as a neutral backdrop, so you can adapt it from Scandi-inspired living spaces to more traditional or industrial schemes by simply swapping accessories. When styling, mix books in both vertical and horizontal stacks, then balance them with decorative objects - think a small ceramic vase, a framed photo or a woven basket for hidden storage on the bottom shelf. Leave a little breathing space around each group and introduce a trailing plant on the top for a touch of greenery. This approach keeps the shelves feeling curated, practical and uncluttered.

About The Range
Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
More Than Just Stores
You can find The Range in many places, mostly outside town centres, but also in shopping areas. Some stores have a coffee shop called "Dee Dee's", and others even have a food section from Iceland. And if you like online shopping, The Range has got you covered there too with a big online store.
