Description
During her travels to Mexico in 1964, Finnish textile designer Annika Rimala was inspired by the Mayan civilisation. Sculptures of the Mayan temples gave her the idea for the Papajo (papaya) pattern. Rhythmic and colourful, this pattern represents prints designed in the 1960s by Finnish textile designer Annika Rimala (1936-2014). The lightweight cotton blanket is fringed on the edges. Cheerful, chic and graphic, the Marimekko textile collection brings your interior to life! Adopt the bright colours and bold prints of the legendary Finnish fashion house. Created in 1951, Marimekko is a state of mind, a way of life based on creativity, freedom of spirit and inventiveness. Its notoriety dates back to 1960, the year in which Jackie Kennedy made several public appearances in dresses designed by Marimekko. The brand went on to enjoy enormous success, which continues today with a range of clothing and decorative accessories in vibrant colours.
