Commemorating 50 years of Verner Panton's momentous design, Louis Poulsen unveils the Panthella 320 Table Lamp: a mid-sized iteration in three showstopping finishes. Unveiled by Panton in 1971, this 2021 take flaunts a cast aluminium base with an injection-moulded opal diffuser, complete with a signature opal acrylic or deep-drawn steel shade. The lamp directs light downwards to avoid glare and casts a soft and comfortable glow. Gifted with a unique sense of colour, shape and light, Verner Panton is renowned worldwide as one of Denmark's most influential designers. Boldly creating furniture and lighting that was completely unlike his contemporaries' work, Panton's designs are housed in collections at New York's MoMA, Copenhagen's Danish Museum of Art and Design and the Design Museum in London. Requires 1x max. 7.5W E14 bulb (not included).
I love the design of the Panthella 320 table lamp - its smooth, organic form and opal shade make it a versatile piece that adds a touch of sculptural elegance to any space. It works particularly well in mid-century modern or Scandinavian-inspired interiors, but can also serve as a subtle statement in more contemporary settings. For styling tips, try pairing it with natural materials and tactile textiles to highlight its clean lines. Placing it on a bedside table, desk, or sideboard can help create a calm, inviting atmosphere, and it’s equally effective when layered with other lighting sources to add depth to a room. The soft, diffused light it emits makes it perfect for ambient lighting, especially in living rooms or reading nooks.
