Description

This beautifully crafted 4 door dresser is a statement piece that balances contemporary design with natural warmth. The top is finished in refined micro cement mortex, offering a sleek, stone-like surface with subtle texture that adds depth and modern character to any space. Durable and stylish, the Mortex top creates a striking contrast against the organic tones of the wood below. Constructed from a combination of engineered wood and solid pine, the exterior is clad in Kuno plank detailing. Behind the four doors, the dresser offers generous storage with two spacious cupboards, each fitted with a practical internal shelf. This thoughtful layout makes it ideal for organising household essentials while keeping your space clean and uncluttered. The doors are finished with sleek black metal handles, adding a bold industrial touch and providing a comfortable grip for effortless opening.

Our Stylist Says

I love this dresser for its versatile style and sturdy, modern silhouette. The brown stone-effect finish gives it a contemporary feel while maintaining warmth, making it a great piece for both neutral scandi interiors and more eclectic spaces. Its size makes it ideal for bedrooms, living rooms, or even eg in a hallway, providing ample storage without feeling bulky. For styling, pair it with minimalistic vases or textured baskets on top, and keep drawer handles simple to let the finish really stand out. It works well with natural materials like wood and woven textures, and its clean lines provide an anchor for creating a balanced, uncluttered look.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
