Price History

Description

Displaying rich tones, beautiful grains and smooth surfaces, the Pala sideboard is made from solid Sheesham wood and built to last. Perfect for traditional, modern or industrial interiors, it features contemporary concrete doors with on-trend brass inlays, and brass handles throughout. A practical piece for any dining room, the sideboard contains three drawers as well as a cupboard space with fixed shelf. Classic and clean, it creates a style feature on its own or when dressed with complementary accessories. Pair with the coordinating Pala dining table for an even more stunning statement.

Our Stylist Says

I love this sideboard because it combines the warmth and natural beauty of Sheesham wood with a subtle, modern touch through the contrasting drawer fronts. It’s versatile enough to suit a range of interiors, from Scandi-style spaces with clean lines to more eclectic, boho settings where its character can stand out. When styling, consider pairing it with neutral tones and textured accessories to let the wood's rich grain shine, or add colour with decorative ware on top. Practical tips include using the drawers for essentials in living or dining rooms, and balancing its statement look with more understated furniture pieces elsewhere in the room.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
