I’m a fan of these timber side tables for their clean, fuss-free design and mix of natural oak-effect shelves with a slim black metal frame. They slide effortlessly into Scandi, industrial or contemporary spaces, and the three-tier layout is genuinely useful - a lamp and clock on top, a woven basket on the middle shelf to corral chargers or toiletries, and books or magazines below. In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
