Pair it with mixed-metal chairs or rattan seating for contrast, then add a simple ceramic plant pot or a low-profile lantern at the centre. Because the glass surface is easy to wipe down, you can swap out styling accents seasonally - fresh herbs in spring, citrus-coloured cushions in summer - without worrying about damage or complicated upkeep.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
