Danish modernism. Produced for the first time in 1963, the P376 pendant has now been reissued. Sculptural, elegant and sophisticated, this pendant is the work of Danish designers Kastholm & Fabricius. Kastholm's experience as a blacksmith combined with Fabricius' cabinetmaker training has led to the creation of sculptural pieces that attract an international audience. Their work has influenced the aesthetics of Danish modernism. Despite working together for less than a decade, Kastholm and Fabricius have left a legacy of work, celebrated in museums around the world. This reissue of the P376 pendant preserves the authenticity of the original design, optimised to emit diffuse, glare-free lighting. The P376 pendant is made up of five concentric metal circles. It is surmounted by a cylindrical section which conceals the bulb. The white finish adds a modern aspect that contrasts perfectly with the retro shape.
I love this pendant for its clean, minimalist aesthetic that adds a touch of Scandinavian cool to any space. Its design, inspired by the 1963 reissue, works especially well in modern or mid-century interiors, but can also complement more eclectic schemes when styled thoughtfully. Its Ø 70 cm size makes it a statement piece without overpowering the room. Practical styling tips include pairing it with simple, streamlined furniture and layering with other soft lighting to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. It’s particularly effective in dining areas or living rooms where a sculptural focal point is desired, and it’s versatile enough to sit comfortably over breakfast bars or collaborative workspaces.
