Description

Rich and luxurious, the Oxford Chenille Cushion in Merlot brings depth and warmth to your interiors, and its deep red tone is perfect for autumnal styling or adding drama year-round. The chenille fabric feels soft and plush, while the Oxford edge gives it a tailored, structured look. This 45cm square cushion adds a bold accent, pairing beautifully with neutrals and jewel tones alike.

Our Stylist Says

This deep red cushion is a versatile piece that adds warmth and richness to both modern and traditional interiors. I love how the chenille fabric offers a soft, inviting texture, perfect for creating cosy corners on sofas or beds. It works particularly well in neutral or muted colour schemes, where it can serve as a striking accent, but it also pairs nicely with earthy tones for a warm, layered look. For practical styling, consider mixing it with textured throws or layering with other cushions in complementary shades for a curated yet effortless vibe. Its colour and plush feel make it an excellent choice for bringing depth and comfort to your living space.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
