'Owen Jones was a Victorian architect designer and reknowned commentator on decorative ornament. His book 'The Grammar of Ornament' published in 1856 was a stunningly illustrated catalogue encompassing every decorative style and influence from around the world. 'Owen Jones' wallpaper depicting a simple fleur de lys a quintessential Jones motif first appeared in the Morris & Co. Volume III collection. This universally recognised geometric trellis design is available in both rich and neutral colourways and provides a wonderful backdrop to the Morris prints and weaves. Shown here in a madder red colourway. Use the Owen Jones wallpaper as a feature wall in a bedroom or kitchen, or perhaps to cover an entire living room space, making the perfect environment to relax in. This wallpaper is part of the Morris Wallpapers Compendium I & II collection. Application Method: paste the wall and then apply. Pattern match: straight match. Vertical repeat: 11cm.
The Owen Jones wallpaper in forest green offers a classic yet fresh background that lends itself well to both traditional and contemporary interiors. I love using this design to bring a rich, natural tone into living rooms or bedrooms, pairing it with light woods, neutral fabrics, or brass accents to create a balanced, inviting space. As a rug, this shade works particularly well in patterned or textured pieces, adding warmth and depth without overpowering the room. Practical styling tips include layering with textured cushions or throws in complementary shades, or choosing a neutral sofa to let the green pop. Its timeless pattern also lends itself to eclectic or vintage-inspired schemes, making it a versatile choice across different styles.
