Designed in 1963, the OW150 daybed is one of many models by designer Ole Wanscher that have become collector's items due to their timeless simplicity and beautiful finishes. A pioneer of Scandinavian design, Ole Wanscher (1903-1985) played a major role in the Danish design movement of the 20th century. His career has been marked by a relentless pursuit of timeless elegance and functionality in furniture, principles that continue to influence contemporary designers around the world. The OW150 daybed combines contrasting shapes and materials to create a luxurious ensemble. The leather mattress appears to float above the solid oak frame. Hand-stitched buttons on the leather create a simple square pattern that highlights the geometric shape of the daybed. The mattress rests on a soft seat made of cotton webbing. An optional bolster (NOT INCLUDED) enhances comfort and relaxation. The OW150 daybed is much more than just a piece of furniture: it's a functional work of art that embodies the heritage of Danish design.
