Price History

Description

As satisfying to admire as it is to lounge upon, the Linden sofa combines classic retro design with an iconic blend of colour and pattern. Built with comfort in mind, the seats and back cushions boast foam and fibre filling, whilst gently curving armrests ensure a snug sit in any position. Lifted off the ground on slim tapered legs, the sofa maximises space and creates a sense of lightness in any room. Elegant button detailing beautifully contrasts with the bold print choices of the scatter cushions, creating a mid-century modern appeal. Pretty, plump and playful, it is sure to enliven any living area. Image shown in Tolka Dandelion with American Walnut feet.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Orla Kiely Linden Medium sofa for its retro-inspired design and cheerful colour palette, making it a versatile statement piece. It works particularly well in eclectic, mid-century modern, or contemporary interiors, adding a pop of colour and personality. When styling, consider pairing it with neutral or muted tones to let the sofa stand out, or with vibrant patterns and textures for a more playful look. Practical tips include layering with cushions in contrasting fabrics and colours, and placing a simple rug underneath to ground the space. Its clean lines and compact size also make it perfect for smaller living rooms or open-plan spaces where you want a colourful focal point without overwhelming the area.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
