Description

Designed by Paola Navone and exclusive to Heal’s, the Hepburn four seater sofa features the designer’s trademark blend of classic and contemporary styles. Made to order in southern Italy, a solid frame is beautifully upholstered in designer St Moritz wool or a choice of semi-aniline or soft leathers complete with mid-century inspired button cushion detail. The use of pre-stretched elasticated webbing plus foam core seat and back cushions with fibre topper provides a comfortable sit with ample posture support. Also available in fabric upholstery, choose from three foot options, natural, walnut or black wenge, to match your style.

Our Stylist Says

The Orla Kiely Laurel sofa is a standout piece that blends mid-century charm with contemporary appeal, making it a versatile addition to many interiors. I love its clean lines and structured form, which work beautifully in both modern and vintage-inspired spaces. The green fabric adds a fresh, inviting burst of colour, and the tufted back detail brings a touch of sophistication. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with neutral or earthy tones for the surrounding décor to let the sofa be the focal point, or add colourful cushions for a bit of personality. It’s practical too - the medium size makes it adaptable for smaller living rooms or open-plan spaces, and the crisp fabric is easy to maintain with regular care. Overall, this piece is ideal for anyone wanting to combine style with functionality.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
