Description

In collaboration with the Natural History Museum * Inspired by Werner’s historic 1814 book of colour charts * Wide design with two roomy drawers * Contrasting internal drawer colour * Classic shape with a vibrant finish Inspired by Werner’s 1814 book of colour charts, this bedside table brings a lively yet timeless look to your space. Its classic silhouette is paired with bold colour, giving it a fresh twist that suits both modern and traditional rooms. The two wide drawers glide smoothly and open to reveal a contrasting interior that adds a touch of surprise. Made to feel at home in any bedroom, it’s a simple way to bring a little more personality into your everyday. A sturdy build makes it a long‑lasting addition to your bedside. Natural History Museum x Dunelm. In a time before colours could be captured visually through photography, scientists used vivid descriptions to identify them, drawing reference from elements of nature. Werner’s 1814 book of colour charts Nomenclature of Colours, which forms part of the Natural History Museum’s rare books collection, was a pioneering work that visualised colour through the vibrancy of birds and butterflies, the shades of flowers and fruit and the tones of precious gems. This classification of colour helped narrate an age of exploration, allowing Charles Darwin to tell a visual tale of his famous 1830s voyage upon HMS Beagle. It is the richness of both colour and language that has been cherished by naturalists for over two centuries and has inspired The Origins of Colour collection, which reimagines the colours of nature for your home. © The Trustees of the Natural History Museum, London 2026. Our Stylist Says

I love this one for its versatile style and practical size-perfect for adding a pop of colour while maintaining a sleek, modern look. Its bold navy hue works brilliantly in contemporary, Scandinavian, or even traditional interiors when paired with neutrals or textured fabrics. To style it effectively, keep the top surface simple with a few essential items like a lamp, a small plant, or a book. Using the drawers for essentials helps keep the top clutter-free, making the whole bedside area feel calm and tidy. It’s also well-sized to slot into smaller or larger bedrooms, making it a flexible addition to your sleep space.
