Description

Do you have a quirky and unique style and want to inject this side of your personality into your space? The Song Drum is just the rustic, unusual piece that is needed for your living area. The bold red colour and interesting design is certainly far from your ordinary side table. The Song Drum will quickly become a conversation piece when guests arrive, as well as a perfectly handy table top that will become home to your drink, remote control and more.

Our Stylist Says

The drum-style side table adds a bold, playful element to both eclectic and contemporary interiors. I love its striking orange colour, which works well as a statement piece in neutral or minimalist settings, injecting vibrancy without overwhelming the space. It’s versatile enough to serve as a side table in living rooms, adding character next to sofas or armchairs, or as a standout piece in bedroom or hallway schemes. For styling, try pairing it with natural textures like linen or rattan to tone down the brightness, or with metallic accents for a more eclectic look. Practical tips include using it to display a quirky lamp, plants, or decorative objects to enhance its visual appeal while maintaining its functional integrity.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
