Description

The Song Cabinet with 3 Doors is an antique piece which is full of charm, fitting right at home in a traditional setting. The light grey paint with flecks of colour variation gives the cabinet that vintage feel; its appearance looks as though it would have many a tale to tell from a past life. The Song Cabinet doors feature a symmetrical pattern of swirls and flowers, along with subtle metal handles to not deter any attention away from the gorgeous solid pine wood body.

Our Stylist Says

I love this sideboard because its mix of rustic charm and character makes it a versatile piece for a range of interiors, from shabby chic to more eclectic styles. Its grey finish offers a neutral canvas that pairs well with both soft pastels and bold accents, making it adaptable across living rooms, dining areas, or even hallways. Practical styling tips include using the top surface for decorative lamps, vases, or artwork, while hiding clutter behind the three doors keeps the space neat. It works especially well if you want to add a touch of vintage appeal to a contemporary setting or to complement other distressed or reclaimed wood accents. Overall, this piece adds personality while remaining functional.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
