Description
This original abstract oil painting is inspired by traditional maps, seen in the lines drawn in the surface as well as graphite revealed through the paint. Ruth Philo's paintings explore abstractaction through colour, light and surface, often drawing inspiration from the artist's everyday life. She mixes materials from pigments to things picked up on her travels on a variety of surfaces such as canvas, linen and wooden panels.
