I’m a fan of this black lacquered side table for its nod to chinoiserie and those slender, gilt-tipped legs - it instantly lifts a corner without overwhelming it. It sits equally well in a modern minimalist scheme (adding a touch of warmth and pattern) or alongside more traditional upholstered pieces, where its fine detailing can echo other metallic accents.
Styling-wise, keep the top uncluttered: a small sculptural lamp or a single glossy ceramic vase works perfectly. On a bedside or beside an armchair, it’s just the right height to hold your evening read and a slender candle, while the reflective finish catches light and brings depth to darkened zones.
